Our objective for the Urban Partnership program is to increase the participation of the urban Aboriginal people in the economy.
The strategy will be to facilitate activities that lead partners to work together to implement identified priorities and approaches to increase urban Aboriginal participation in our community.
Developing aboriginal businesses in the community will ensure a strong community. If you are looking for financing for your business plans or information on grants and initiatives available please stop in and we can explain the options available.

Aboriginal business is growing and expanding and there is a vast amount of opportunities available.

The Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre held their Annual Fall Craft and Trade Show.
We would like to thank everyone who attended this event and for making it once again an amazing event.
We had over 300 people walk through the door to see the 30+ craft tables.
The Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre Board & Staff hope you all had as great of a time as we did and hope to see you all at our next event!
On October 3rd, 2015 our Urban Partnerships Economic Development Program held a Craft sale. Over all the event went great with over 24 tables set up. People of all ages enjoyed baking, crafts, jewellery and home made crafts.
The Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre will also be holding a Christmas craft fair in December.
On October 13th, 2015 our October Beading Workshop started. This is the first class we held and hope to continue these classes every month. Our instructor is one of our Life Time Members Sarah Sutherland. These classes can only
hold 30 individuals per class. To sign up please contact Tanya Powell at (204) 734-9301 or come in to our local Friendship Centre and sign up at the front desk.
Mothers Day Craft Sale
ECFC held our Annual Spring/Mothers Day Craft Sale once again and we had a great turn out! We thank everyone who participated and got a table as well as all our amazing community members who came and bought some Mothers Day presents! Below are some pictures of community members enjoying lunch from the canteen as well as some of the tables that were here. Halley is pictured at the bottom showing off the necklace she bought for her mother for mothers day! We hope to see you all at our next Craft Sale.
